Can the Great Physician Project forgive my medical debt?
No. The Great Physician Project does not independently purchase or forgive medical debt. Our project raises awareness and financial support for medical debt abolition through Undue Medical Debt.
How do I know if my medical debt qualifies?
The Great Physician Project does not determine eligibility for individual accounts. Undue Medical Debt determines which debt portfolios are available and which accounts meet its eligibility requirements.
Can I submit my medical bills to The Great Physician Project?
No. We are not able to accept individual medical bills or determine whether a person's debt qualifies for abolition. Please do not send medical bills, account numbers, Social Security numbers, or other personal financial information through this website.
I received a letter saying my medical debt was abolished. Who should I contact?
Questions about an individual debt-absolution notice, account, or communication should be directed to Undue Medical Debt. The Great Physician Project does not administer individual debt-relief accounts.
Will The Great Physician Project conatact me if my debt is abolished?
No. Communication regarding an individual's qualifying debt abolition comes directly from Undue Medical Debt. The Great Physician Project does not administer or communicate debt-absolution decisions.
Can you tell me whether my county has medical debt available for abolition?
County-specific debt availability is determined by Undue Medical Debt. The Great Physician Project will only conduct a county-specific fundraising campaign after the availability of qualifying debt has been confirmed and the applicable pledge requirements have been completed.
How does my donation help?
A gift designated for medical debt abolition supports The Great Physician Project's effort to fund the abolition of qualifying medical debt through Undue Medical Debt. Undue Medical Debt determines which qualifying debt portfolios are available for acquisition and abolition.
Not necessarily. Donors should select the giving designation that reflects their intent. Gifts designated for medical debt abolition are used to support that purpose through The Great Physician Project's work with Undue Medical Debt. Gifts designated for ministry and operations support the work of The Great Physician Project and Open Doors Ministries, Inc.
Does every donation go directly to medical debt abolition?
Can my church or organization participate?
Yes. Churches, businesses, and organizations can support The Great Physician Project through prayer, awareness, fundraising, and financial contributions. Participation with The Great Physician Project does not make an organization an agent, representative, or intermediary of Undue Medical Debt.
